Family of 6 year old child donates her organs after she had a road traffic accident and become brain- dead. Her organs gave life to four patients who were suffering from end-stage organ failures. The organ retrieval and subsequent liver transplantation was performed by a team led by Dr Rahul Saxena at New Era Hospital, Nagpur. This selfless act of the donor family was recognised by Government of India and they were felicitated by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on the occasion of World Organ donation Day 2019.
